Better known as the Vieux Port, the Quai Saint-Pierre is the first port of Cannes. Managed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it is an emblematic site of the city through its port activity. But also, through its international events that take place on its Pantiero esplanade. Among them, we find the Régates Royales and the International Festival of Pleasure Craft (Cannes Yachting Festival). During this event, the old setting of the Vieux Port is transformed into a real attractive showcase, where more than 500 ships parade.

The Royal Regattas were created in 1929 to honor the Danish sailor Christian X. Every September, more than a hundred luxury and traditional boats set sail during this maritime competition.

As one of the oldest ports on the Côte d'Azur, the Old Port of Cannes was originally intended for trade and passenger transport. In fact, as early as 1835, a boat was already providing a link between the cities of Cannes and Marseille.

Inaugurated in 1838, the Quai Saint-Pierre is located at the foot of the picturesque district of Cannes, Le Suquet. Over the years and through the tourist boom in the city, the port has naturally expanded. Between 1930 and 1940, it became the cradle of pleasure boating on the French Riviera and provided connections between the city of Cannes and New York.

Today, the Old Port can accommodate up to 800 boats. Numerous services and facilities are available to boaters such as toilets and refuelling facilities. There is also a "boaters' house", which provides a friendly and relaxing place for them when they stop at the Old Port of Cannes.

The Old Port owes its existence to Lord Broughman, a famous British politician and writer of the 17th and 19th centuries. He activated the request for the construction of a port at the foot of the Suquet with King Louis-Philippe. Indeed, for more than a century, fishermen had been asking for a dike to protect themselves from storms coming from the southwest.

To this day, it is in the heart of the Allées de la Liberté that the statue of the famous man has stood since 1898. Furthermore, the fame of this port is also due to the Prince of Wales who made it his headquarters. His presence has helped to improve pleasure boating, but also to develop the city in general.

Facing the Lérins Islands, the Old Port enjoys an idyllic setting thanks to its magnificent seafront. In December 2012, this marina was renovated to provide more open spaces for tourists and businesses. As a result, the Albert-Edouard jetty, which represents the extension of the Palais des Festivals, can now accommodate more than 50 large pleasure craft.

Le Suquet is a typical district of Provence. It has a strong architectural heritage thanks to its old buildings and its small streets from the medieval period. A real vacation spot, this district contains the unmissable Notre-Dame d'Espérance church, as well as the famous Musée de la Castre. On the other hand, Le Suquet is also full of famous luxury boutiques as well as casinos and the sumptuous Cannes beaches.
Every last weekend in June, since 2013, the Old Port has been celebrating. Indeed, the Saint-Pierre quay comes alive on the Pantiero esplanade, through various shows, workshops and concerts for young and old alike.
